I received a master’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
I was a finalist in the Platinum PR awards and also received five professional Copper Anvil awards and merits for work I completed in graduate school. Since then, I’ve earned two honorable mentions, one silver and one gold award from the AAMC GIA communications awards.
I have worked with numerous companies including tech, health care, education, nonprofits, and events. In these jobs, I’ve written crisis communication plans, press releases, web content, and social media posts. I’ve written multiple articles and my writing has been featured in USA Today and the Arizona Republic.
Currently, I serve as lead for the public affairs department at the UArizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. I direct the communications efforts for the College, which includes drafting newsletters, internal announcements, writing stories, drafting releases, managing media inquiries and promoting our brand.
