Claude Duet for Digital Marketers: What It Is, What It Costs, and 8 Ways to Use It (2026 Guide)

October 24, 2026 · 10 min read

Claude Duet is Anthropic’s new proactive AI agent. You don’t open it and type a prompt. It comes to you with a morning brief, works through tasks in the background, and asks before anything gets sent. Anthropic launched it as a research preview on 21 October 2026 (Anthropic).

This guide covers Claude Duet for digital marketers: what it can actually take off your plate, who can get it today, and where it falls short. Every feature, price and limit below links to Anthropic’s own pages, checked on 24 October 2026.

Key takeaways

  • Claude Duet is Anthropic’s proactive AI agent, launched as a research preview on 21 October 2026.
  • It needs a US Claude Pro or Max plan and a waitlist invite. It costs nothing extra during the preview, but it uses your plan’s limits.
  • Its best marketing jobs are recurring ones: morning briefs, call prep, HubSpot follow-ups, reports and invoice chasers.
  • It asks before it sends, pays, signs or deletes. Read every approval, because prompt injection is a real risk.

What is Claude Duet, and why does it matter for digital marketing?

Anthropic calls Claude Duet “a proactive agent that understands what needs your attention” (Claude Duet product page). In practice:

  • It sends you a morning brief. Each morning it reviews your email and calendar, highlights priorities and may draft replies for you to review (Claude Help Center).
  • It checks in during the day. It looks at your connected accounts every few hours and messages you only when something needs you (Anthropic).
  • It works when you’re away. It runs on its own virtual machine with its own browser, so your laptop or phone doesn’t need to stay on (Anthropic).
  • It produces finished work. Briefs, decks, docs, sheets and dashboards arrive as editable files in the app’s Make tab (Claude Help Center).
  • It connects to your tools. Anthropic says it works with more than 6,000 connectors and plugins. Named examples include Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack, HubSpot, Canva, Shopify, Notion and Stripe (product page). Where there’s no connector, it uses a cloud browser (Claude Help Center).
  • It asks before acting. It is designed to ask for approval before it sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document or deletes anything (Claude Help Center).
  • It remembers. It carries over your Claude memory, skills and connected apps (Anthropic).

Model: Claude Opus 5.5. You can’t choose a different model (Claude Help Center).

Platforms: standalone iPhone and Android apps, plus claude.ai on the web (product page).

How is it different from the normal Claude app?

The Claude app waits for you to open a chat. Claude Duet comes to you, with a morning brief and messages about work that’s finished or waiting on you (product page). That shift is what makes Claude Duet for digital marketing interesting. Most marketing work is recurring checks and follow-ups, and that’s exactly what Duet is built to do.

Who can get Claude Duet, and how much does it cost?

As of 24 October 2026, you need all three of the following (Claude Help Center):

  1. A Claude Pro or Max plan. Team and Enterprise plans are not included yet.
  2. A Claude account in the US.
  3. An invitation from the waitlist. Invitations go out in waves.
Plan Price (checked 24 Oct 2026) Claude Duet
Pro $20/month, or $200 a year billed up front (about $17/month) Included during the research preview
Max From $100/month Included during the research preview

Prices come from claude.com/pricing and exclude tax.

Claude Duet is free during the research preview for Pro and Max subscribers. But it shares your plan’s usage limits with the rest of Claude, and background work counts too, including the morning brief. Admitted users get one full limit reset, available until 30 November 2026 (Claude Help Center). If you’re trialling Claude Duet for digital marketers on a Pro plan, start with a few tasks and watch how fast you hit your limit before you hand it more.

How to join

Go to the Claude Duet page, select “Join the waitlist”, and use the same email as your Claude account and your phone’s Apple or Google account. When your invite arrives, open it on your phone and sign in with your Claude account (Claude Help Center).

8 ways to use Claude Duet for digital marketing

Anthropic’s own examples point to one pattern: recurring work in tools you already use, ending in a draft you approve. Every use of Claude Duet for digital marketers below follows that pattern and builds on capabilities Anthropic has documented. The prompts are DMS starter templates, not tested results. Adapt them to your brand.

Note on timing

Anthropic says Duet checks your accounts at set intervals, but it hasn’t documented fixed schedules such as “every Monday at 9am”. If Duet can’t hold a schedule, ask for the job in that day’s morning brief instead.

1. A marketing-focused morning brief

Duet already reviews your email and calendar each morning (Claude Help Center). Tell it what matters to a marketer, so the brief isn’t just a list of meetings.

Prompt

“In my morning brief, put these first: client emails waiting more than 24 hours for a reply, meetings today that need a prep doc, and any Slack messages in #campaigns that mention a deadline. Draft replies for the client emails but don’t send anything.”

2. Client-call prep briefs

One early tester, a brand strategist, got a prepared brief for an upcoming client call without asking for it (Anthropic). Make it a standing job.

Prompt

“Before every external call on my calendar, prepare a one-page brief: who’s attending, our last three emails with them, open action items, and the latest deal notes in HubSpot. Put it in the Make tab an hour before the call.”

3. Follow-ups from HubSpot deal history

Anthropic lists drafting follow-up emails from HubSpot deal history as a use case (Anthropic). For agencies, that means proposals that don’t go cold.

Prompt

“Every Monday, find HubSpot deals in the ‘Proposal sent’ stage with no activity for 7 days. Draft a short, personal follow-up for each, based on the deal notes. Show me the drafts for approval.”

4. Turning a launch into a Canva social campaign

Anthropic’s launch post includes “turning a product launch into a social campaign in Canva” (Anthropic). That’s a direct marketing job.

Prompt

“We launch [product] on [date]. Using the launch brief in my Google Drive, create a Canva campaign: 3 LinkedIn posts, 3 Instagram posts and 1 story, in our brand colours. Write the captions in a doc. Don’t publish anything.”

5. A cross-tool campaign dashboard

Building dashboards across many tools is one of Anthropic’s example tasks (Anthropic). When it gives a number, Duet names the email, file or spreadsheet it came from (Claude Help Center), so you can check it.

Prompt

“Build a weekly campaign dashboard from the spreadsheets in my ‘Reporting’ Drive folder: spend, leads, cost per lead and conversion rate by channel. Show week-on-week change, cite the source file for every number, and refresh it every Monday at 9am.”

6. Monthly client report decks

Duet can deliver a finished brief, deck, doc or sheet for review (product page). Use that for the monthly report that takes half a day.

Prompt

“On the 1st of each month, draft a 10-slide report deck for [client] from last month’s dashboard: headline results, what worked, what didn’t, and three recommendations. Keep it in the Make tab for me to edit.”

7. Chasing unpaid client invoices

Duet can use the Stripe connector or QuickBooks to find unpaid invoices and draft reminders (Claude Help Center; Anthropic). For freelancers and small agencies, that’s cash flow.

Prompt

“Every Friday, check Stripe for client invoices more than 14 days overdue. Draft a polite reminder for each one, firmer for anything over 30 days. Ask me before sending any of them.”

8. Website and competitor checks

Where there’s no connector, Duet uses a cloud browser (Claude Help Center). You can use that to keep an eye on public pages.

Prompt

“Every Wednesday, visit the pricing and homepage of [competitor 1], [competitor 2] and [competitor 3]. Tell me only what changed since last week, such as prices, headlines or new offers, with links. If nothing changed, say so in one line.”

The limits of Claude Duet for digital marketers: read this before you connect your accounts

Claude Duet is a research preview, and Anthropic is open about what it can’t do yet. Here’s what that means for Claude Duet for digital marketers (Claude Help Center; Anthropic):

  • US only, Pro and Max only, waitlist only. Agencies on Claude Team or Enterprise plans can’t use it yet.
  • No Microsoft 365 yet, and Slack works with limits. If your team lives in Outlook and Teams, wait.
  • It can miss things. It may misread a thread, misjudge what’s urgent, or miss something that arrives between check-ins.
  • You can’t watch its browser or take over from it.
  • No phone calls or texts. It can send email from connected accounts, with your approval.
  • Prompt injection is a real risk. Anthropic warns that instructions hidden in content it reads can manipulate it. That matters for marketers, who read a lot of inbound email and web pages. The approval step is your safety net, so read every approval before you tap it.
  • Disconnecting doesn’t erase memory. Disconnecting an app stops future access, but Duet keeps its memory of information it already saw.
  • Usage limits. Background checks and big jobs such as decks count against your plan.

Guardrails for using Claude Duet for digital marketing

  • Connect the minimum. The safest start with Claude Duet for digital marketing is Gmail, Calendar and Drive. Add HubSpot or Canva once you trust it.
  • Keep client data separate. Before you connect a client’s accounts, check that your contract allows an AI agent to read their data.
  • Treat every output as a draft. Anthropic says it can make mistakes. Check numbers against the source it cites.
  • Never approve on autopilot. The approval card is the only thing between a draft and a sent email.

On the safety side, Anthropic says Duet never directly sees your passwords or sign-in tokens. It also says a dedicated classifier blocks sharing the most sensitive data, such as card numbers and government IDs, and that trading securities and moving money between accounts are off-limits even with approval (Anthropic).

Claude Duet for digital marketers: who should use it, and who shouldn’t

A good fit:

  • US-based freelancers, consultants and small agency owners already paying for Claude Pro or Max
  • Marketers whose day runs on Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, HubSpot and Canva
  • Anyone who loses hours to follow-ups, call prep and monthly reporting

Wait for now: these groups can’t get the full value of Claude Duet for digital marketers yet.

  • Teams outside the US
  • Agencies on Claude Team or Enterprise plans
  • Microsoft 365 shops
  • Anyone who wants an agent that posts or spends without asking. Duet is built not to.

How it compares

Claude Duet joins three other proactive agents: Meta’s Muse, OpenAI’s Dots and SpaceXAI’s Grok Bot. All of them give the agent a cloud computer so it keeps working in the background (iPhone in Canada, 21 Oct 2026). For a side-by-side view, see our comparison of the best AI agent for digital marketers.

Verdict: is Claude Duet for digital marketers worth it?

If you’re in the US and already on Claude Pro or Max, join the waitlist now. There’s no extra cost during the preview. The strongest uses of Claude Duet for digital marketers are the boring ones: follow-ups, call prep, reports and invoice chasers. Those jobs are recurring, live in tools it already connects to, and end in a draft you approve.

If you’re outside the US, on a Team plan, or on Microsoft 365, you can’t use it yet. Bookmark this guide. We’ll update it as access widens.
