Description

As a little girl, my logical and methodical way of thinking set me apart from others my age, to the point where my parents were certain I was destined to become an attorney. My mother was therefore shocked when I told her I wanted to be a writer, like her (“But not the boring kind of writing you do, Mom!”). She’s never let me forget that – partly because it was so blunt, and partly because that “boring kind” of corporate writing is exactly what I do now for a living. Thankfully, I no longer find it boring.

At Syracuse University I studied English, with a focus in creative writing. It wasn’t until after I graduated that I realized I actually preferred writing fact over fiction (while I do enjoy both, nonfiction is simply easier). Years later, with experience in the marketing, communications and journalism fields under my belt, I have now earned the distinction of being able to say that I am a published writer (even if it is just the boring kind).

Currently, I work full-time as a media relations specialist for a national nonprofit but have time for completing freelance projects on the side. So, whether you are in need of a press release, blog post, newsletter, web copy – you name it – I am at your service.
