  • Most results figures on the site are the company’s own

Platform rules and limits to know

Automating LinkedIn actions can go against LinkedIn’s User Agreement. This is the most important part of this review.

Section 8.2 of LinkedIn’s User Agreement says you must not “Use bots or other unauthorized automated methods to access the Services, add or download contacts, send or redirect messages, create, comment on, like, share, or re-share posts, or otherwise drive inauthentic engagement”. LinkedIn’s help page on prohibited software and extensions says members who use such tools “risk having their accounts restricted or shut down”.

OutX’s listening, alerts and drafted replies do not post anything for you. Its auto-engagement is different: rules on a watchlist can auto-like and auto-comment on LinkedIn posts from your personal account or a company page, and OutX’s docs say engagement happens “shortly after the post goes live”. Its Chrome extension also exports Sales Navigator search results, which OutX gates as “high-volume scraping” on paid plans.

OutX says the extension runs in your own browser, on your own LinkedIn session, “at human pacing with daily limits”, and never stores your password or cookie. Its docs suggest starting at 1 to 5 likes and 1 to 3 comments an hour. That lowers the volume, but it does not change what LinkedIn’s rules say, and OutX has not published any LinkedIn authorisation. Its own terms, last updated on 13 March 2025, describe it as “a LinkedIn automation tool” and say you are “solely responsible for ensuring compliance with LinkedIn’s TOS”.

How to run a fair trial

  • Start on the free plan with listening, alerts and drafted replies only.
  • Read section 8.2 of LinkedIn’s User Agreement and decide which actions, if any, you are willing to automate.
  • If you try auto-engagement, use a profile that is not your most valuable, at the lowest hourly limits.
  • Keep the browser with the extension open during working hours, as scanning pauses when it is closed.
  • After the 7-day trial, count the conversations that turned into meetings before you pay.

Who it is for

Good fit: B2B sales, marketing and founder-led teams that want to spot buying signals on LinkedIn and Reddit and reply while the conversation is fresh.

Less suited to: Teams that cannot accept any risk to their LinkedIn accounts, or that need broad brand monitoring across news and consumer social media.
