Meta Muse for Digital Marketers: How to Use It for Meta Ads, Instagram and Content, Safely (2026 Guide)

October 24, 2026 · 6 min read

Muse is Meta’s personal AI agent. It launched in the US on 8 September 2026 (Meta) and reached 10.9 million US downloads in 40 days (AI to ROI, 23 Oct 2026). On 29 September, Meta opened it to small businesses, with direct connections to Meta ad accounts and Instagram analytics (Meta).

Then, in October, researchers found thousands of shared Muse chats that anyone could open. This guide to Meta Muse for digital marketers covers both sides: what Muse can do for your ads, Instagram and content, and how to use it without leaking client data. Every fact links to its source, checked on 24 October 2026.

Key takeaways

  • Muse is Meta’s personal AI agent. It reached 10.9 million US downloads in its first 40 days.
  • Muse for Small Business connects to Meta ad accounts, Instagram analytics, Shopify, Canva and more.
  • In October, researchers found about 6,800 discoverable share links, and Meta paused sharing.
  • Use it for analysis and drafts, start read-only, and make account changes in Ads Manager yourself.

What is Meta Muse, and why does it matter for digital marketing?

According to Meta (launch post, small business post):

  • It’s an agent, not a chatbot. Muse takes on tasks and projects, keeps working after you close the app, and comes back when something changes or needs your approval.
  • It connects to your Meta ad accounts. It can analyse what’s working and draft a campaign for the coming week.
  • It reads Instagram and Facebook. It connects to Instagram professional account analytics and Facebook Pages “in a few clicks” and learns your business from them.
  • It drafts content. It can analyse your content, look at trends and write first drafts.
  • It connects to your other tools. These include Shopify, Canva, Klaviyo, HighLevel, Stripe, QuickBooks, Slack, Notion and Figma (TechCrunch, 29 Sep 2026).
  • It works where you already are. It runs on iOS, Android and the web, and you can message it in WhatsApp.

That’s why Meta Muse for digital marketing is different from the other new agents. Claude Duet, OpenAI Dots and Grok Bot sit outside Meta’s platforms. Muse plugs straight into the ad accounts and Instagram analytics that most small business marketing runs on. For a side-by-side view, see our comparison of the best AI agent for digital marketers.

How much does Meta Muse for digital marketers cost, and where is it available?

  • Price: Meta says Muse is “free for most of what people need”, with paid plans for more usage (Meta). Meta’s posts don’t list prices. TechCrunch reported paid plans at $20 a month (Power) and $100 a month (Maximum), as cited by The Neuron. Check in the app before you upgrade.
  • Where: Meta says personal Muse is available in the US and Canada (Meta). Meta doesn’t say which countries get the small business features.

If you’re testing Meta Muse for digital marketers outside North America, you’ll have to wait.

7 ways to use Meta Muse for digital marketing

Meta has shared how businesses actually use Muse. The most common request is reviewing ad performance. Others include structuring a campaign from a creative brief and setting up product catalogs and pixel tracking. Some businesses link the Meta Ads connector with Shopify, Canva and HighLevel so Muse can pick a product, choose a promotional idea and build ads from it (ALM Corp, 23 Oct 2026, summarising Meta’s release).

The prompts below put Meta Muse for digital marketers to work on those same jobs. They are DMS starter templates, not tested results.

1. Weekly Meta ads review

Prompt

“Analyse my Meta ads from the last 7 days. Which ads have the lowest cost per result, and why? Which should I pause? Give me three changes to test next week. Don’t change anything in the account.”

The first sentence of this prompt comes almost word for word from Meta’s most common example: “Analyze my Meta ads. What are my highest performing ads and why?” (ALM Corp).

2. Campaign structure from a brief

Prompt

“Here’s our creative brief [attach]. Suggest a Meta ads campaign structure: objective, audiences, budget split and ad formats. Show it as a draft for me to approve.”

3. Instagram content review

Prompt

“Look at my Instagram analytics for the last 30 days. Which 5 posts drove the most reach and saves? What do they have in common? Draft 5 new post ideas in the same style.”

4. Trend-led content drafts

Prompt

“Find 3 trends relevant to [industry] that fit our brand voice. For each, write a Reel script under 30 seconds and a caption. Don’t post anything.”

5. Shopify product promotion

Prompt

“Check my Shopify store for the 3 products with the most stock and the fewest sales this month. Suggest one promotion for each, and draft a Meta ad for the best one.”

6. Canva ad creative

Prompt

“Using our brand kit in Canva, create 3 ad variations for [product] in square and story sizes. Save them as drafts.”

7. Pixel and catalog health check

Prompt

“Check whether my Meta pixel is firing purchase events and whether my product catalog has errors. List anything broken and how to fix it.”

The October 2026 Muse sharing leak: what it means for Meta Muse for digital marketers

  • What: Security firm Claroc searched public DNS records for the domain Muse used for shared chats. It found more than 6,800 share-link hostnames. It opened hundreds and found many loaded without a login (Let’s Data Science, 20 Oct 2026; IBTimes, 21 Oct 2026).
  • What was in them: examples included a national marketing company’s internal revenue review, a small-business loan application, a real-estate investor’s performance report and a workplace vacation calendar (IBTimes).
  • Why it was findable: each share link’s hostname included the chat title, so readable titles showed up in DNS records (Let’s Data Science).
  • Meta’s response: Meta paused sharing. A spokesperson said: “We’ve paused this functionality while we review this report and consider changes to how these links can be discovered.” Meta did not independently verify the 6,800 count (IBTimes; Let’s Data Science).

The researchers reported the flaw through Meta’s bug bounty on 8 October (IBTimes). The research doesn’t show whether anyone else opened the exposed chats.

How to use Meta Muse for digital marketers safely

  1. Never share Muse chats that contain client or revenue data. Sharing is paused for now. When it comes back, treat any shared link as public.
  2. Connect your own accounts first, not clients’. Test on your own ad account and Instagram before you connect anything you manage for others. Check your contracts allow it.
  3. Keep “read” and “act” separate. Meta lets you choose whether Muse can only read your email or also send it (Meta). Start with read-only wherever you can.
  4. Use the approval step. Meta says Muse won’t publish, send or spend without your approval (Meta). A separate “Sentinel” agent must approve anything Muse sends to the internet, and you get an audit trail (Meta). Check that trail weekly.
  5. Don’t give it account-changing jobs yet. Ask for analysis and drafts. Make the changes in Ads Manager yourself.

Meta Muse for digital marketers: who should use it

A good fit: small businesses and social media managers in the US or Canada whose marketing runs on Meta ads, Instagram and Facebook, especially with Shopify or Canva.

Wait if: you’re outside North America, you handle sensitive client data, or you need an agent for Google Ads, LinkedIn or email-heavy B2B work. For those, see our Claude Duet for digital marketers guide.
