October 25, 2026 · 12 min read

Peec AI vs Profound 2026 comparison: pricing, AI engines, features and verdict (Digital Marketing Supermarket)

Peec AI vs Profound comes down to how you buy and how much you need. Choose Peec AI if you want a self-serve AI search analytics tool with published prices from $95 a month and unlimited users. Choose Profound if you’re an enterprise brand or agency that needs up to 9 answer engines, real prompt-volume data and AI agents that draft content, and you can accept a custom quote after a free 7-day trial. For most small and mid-sized marketing teams, Peec is the easier place to start; for global brands with an AI visibility budget, Profound is the deeper platform (prices checked on Peec’s pricing page and Profound’s pricing page on 23 October 2026).

Both tools sit in our GEO tools directory. For the quick facts on each, see the Peec AI listing and the Profound listing; for the full detail, read our Peec AI review and our Profound review.

How much do Peec AI and Profound cost?

This is the biggest difference between the two. Peec publishes every self-serve price. On 23 October 2026, Starter cost $95 a month for 50 prompts, Pro $245 for 150 prompts and Advanced $495 for 350 prompts, each tracking 3 models daily with unlimited users, and annual billing saves 15% (see Peec’s pricing page). Adding a fourth model costs $30 a month on Starter, $70 on Pro and $140 on Advanced. Enterprise is custom and billed annually.

Peec AI’s pricing page as shown to US visitors, checked 25 October 2026. Visitors in the EU may see euro prices.

Profound shows only two options for brands: a free 7-day Trial and a custom-priced Enterprise plan, so you’ll need a sales conversation for a number (see Profound’s pricing page). Its older self-serve brand plans are no longer on the pricing page, so treat any $99 or $399 brand price you read elsewhere as out of date. AI Marketer messages and Agent runs use credits, which adds a variable cost on top (see Profound’s guide to credits).

Pricing maths: a 100-prompt setup on 3 engines

  • A brand on Peec: 100 prompts needs Pro at $245 a month, which covers up to 150 prompts on 3 models.
  • A brand on Profound: no public price. Ask for a quote on the same prompt count, engines and regions so you can compare like for like.
  • An agency on Peec: Peec counts 1 prompt on 1 model for 1 day as 1 credit, so 100 prompts on 3 models is about 9,000 credits a month. That fits inside Essential’s 10,000-credit pool at $245 a month, and the credits can be shared between clients (see Peec’s guide to agency credits).
  • An agency on Profound: Agency Growth at $99 a month plus one $399 client workspace, which includes 100 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, 400 Agent credits and 6 AEO articles a month. That’s $498 a month for the first client (see Profound’s Agency Growth announcement).

On tracking alone, Peec is cheaper. Profound’s client workspace includes content production, though, so the fair comparison is Peec plus your own writing time against Profound with articles included.

Which AI engines do they track?

Profound covers more engines on its paid plan. Its Enterprise plan tracks up to 9: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Grok and DeepSeek, across 30+ languages and 150+ regions (see Profound’s Answer Engine Insights page). The trial covers only ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews.

Peec’s self-serve plans let you choose 3 models from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI, and you can pay to add more. Enterprise tracks up to 13 models, adding Claude, Perplexity, Grok, DeepSeek, Qwen, Mistral and others (see Peec’s pricing page). Naver AI matters if you sell in South Korea. Perplexity or Claude on a self-serve Peec plan means an add-on or Enterprise.

Data quality: how each tool collects AI answers

Both vendors make the same important choice. Peec says it uses browser automation through each platform’s web interface, as a logged-out user, because API answers and sources can differ from what real users see (see Peec’s docs on how it collects data). Profound says it captures answers from the consumer front end of each platform rather than the model API. So neither has a clear method advantage. The real differences are coverage (engines, languages and regions) and how you choose prompts.

Prompt choice is where the two differ most. Profound’s Prompt Volumes is a dataset of real prompts with trends and intent, so you can track what people actually ask (see Profound’s Prompt Volumes page). Treat it as directional, because it’s modelled from Profound’s own data. Peec gives each tracked prompt a relative volume score from 1 to 5 and suggests prompts from your brand context and coverage gaps. Both are useful. Profound’s is the richer dataset, while Peec’s is simpler to act on.

AI crawler and referral analytics

Both tools now read your server or CDN logs to show which AI bots visit which pages. Peec’s crawl insights connect to AWS CloudFront, Google Cloud CDN, Cloudflare, Vercel, WordPress and Akamai, plus a webhook or a CSV upload, and its crawlability audit checks your robots.txt against 40+ AI bots (see Peec’s crawl insights docs). Profound’s Agent Analytics covers a similar list, including Fastly and Netlify, and also reports AI referral traffic (see Profound’s Agent Analytics page). Peec reports AI referrals through a Google Analytics 4 connection. On this feature the two are close.

Content, agents and acting on the data

This is where Profound pulls ahead. Its AI Marketer learns your brand through Context Manager, and its Agents research, write and refresh content, with a human approval step before anything is published. Sheets runs an Agent across hundreds of rows at once (see Profound’s Agents page). It’s closer to an AI marketing agent than a dashboard, so it’s worth comparing with the tools in our best AI marketing agents in 2026 roundup.

The Profound homepage with its AI Marketer workspace, checked 25 October 2026.

Peec has moved in the same direction, more cautiously. It ranks recommended actions, turns an action into an editable content optimisation draft, and its Agent answers plain-language questions about your Peec data on a monthly allowance of agent credits (see Peec’s Agent docs and Peec’s content optimisation docs). An MCP server lets you query the same data from Claude, Cursor and other assistants. Peec helps you decide what to fix; Profound will draft much of the fix for you.

Security, compliance and procurement

Both will pass most enterprise reviews. Profound says it is SOC 2 Type II compliant and supports SSO/SAML, role-based access control and GDPR compliance. Peec’s enterprise page says its SOC 2 Type II audit is complete, with the report available through sales, and that ISO 27001 certification is in progress; SSO is available on Enterprise (see Peec’s enterprise page). Peec hosts customer data in the EU, mainly in Frankfurt (see Peec’s data processing agreement), which may matter to European buyers. Ask either vendor for the report during procurement.

Choose Peec AI if…

  • You want a price you can see, and to start today without a sales call
  • Your whole marketing team needs access, because every plan has unlimited users
  • Three engines cover most of your market, or you need Naver AI for South Korea
  • You mainly need measurement: visibility, position, sentiment, share of voice and the sources behind them
  • You’re an agency that wants one credit pool shared across several clients
  • Your budget is under about $500 a month

Choose Profound if…

  • AI visibility is already a board-level KPI and you have an enterprise budget
  • You need many engines, languages and regions on one contract
  • You want real prompt-volume data to decide which questions to track
  • You want agents that turn gaps into drafted content, with an approval step
  • You’re in a regulated or reputation-sensitive sector where FactCheck and security sign-off matter
  • You’re an agency that wants content production bundled into each client workspace

Questions to ask before you sign

  1. Which engines, regions and languages are in the price? Get the list in writing, not just a count.
  2. How many prompts, and can we change them? Profound’s trial prompts can’t be edited, so ask how prompts are set on the paid plan.
  3. How are credits used and capped? This applies to Profound’s AI Marketer and Agents, and to Peec’s agent credits.
  4. Can we export our history? If you switch later, you’ll want your trend data. Check API and CSV access on your plan.
  5. What’s the contract term? Peec’s Enterprise is annual; ask Profound for its minimum term and renewal terms.

Our verdict: Peec AI or Profound?

For most teams reading this, Peec AI is the better first buy. You can see the price, start without a sales call, give everyone access, and get well-defined visibility, sentiment and source data from $95 a month. Our Peec AI review explains how to get value from it in the first week.

Profound is the more complete platform, and the one to shortlist if AI search is already a KPI and you have an enterprise budget. It covers more engines and markets, has richer prompt data, and its AI Marketer and Agents turn findings into drafts. The trade-off is commercial: no public brand price, a short fixed trial and credit-based agent costs. Our Profound review scores it 3.6 out of 5 for that reason. If you’re unsure, start with Peec, and move to Profound once your prompt list, markets and budget justify an enterprise contract.
