Proofsource Review 2026

October 29, 2026 · 5 min read

Proofsource tracks whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews name your brand, turns every lost question into a fix and then re-tests to prove whether the fix worked. It is also one of the cheapest ways to start tracking AI answers. For the quick facts, see our Proofsource listing on Digital Marketing Supermarket. This Proofsource review covers what it does, who it suits, pricing, alternatives and our verdict.

Everything below was checked against proofsource.co, its pricing page and Product Hunt on 29 October 2026. We have not used the product ourselves.

Is Proofsource Real? What We Checked

Proofsource launched on Product Hunt in October 2026 and reached number 12 on 7 October. Its site lists more than 100 brands using it. It is a young product, so there is not yet a long track record or independent reviews, but the pricing and method are published in unusual detail.

How Proofsource Works

Buyer Question Tracking

Proofsource asks AI engines the questions your buyers ask and records whether your brand is mentioned, in which position, which competitors appear and which pages are cited. You can track daily or weekly.

Fixes, Not Just Reports

Each lost question becomes a specific fix: a page to write, a source to get listed on, or crawler access to open. Drafts are prepared for you, but nothing goes live without human approval.

Proof of Impact

This is the feature that gives the product its name. After a fix goes live, Proofsource re-asks the same questions and reports the change with 95% Wilson confidence intervals. In plain terms, it tells you whether an improvement is likely to be real or just the normal day-to-day variation in AI answers. Most trackers show a line going up or down without that context.

Competitor and Source Intelligence

Competitor watch tracks rival brands and changes to their sites. Citation, listicle and review site tracking shows which sources AI engines rely on, and sentiment and search demand data add context.

Who Should Use Proofsource

  • B2B and SaaS marketers who need to know which buyer questions recommend competitors.
  • SEO and content teams wanting a prioritised list of pages to write and sources to target.
  • Agencies, which get a free white-label agency account.
  • Smaller brands that want to start tracking AI answers for a few dollars a month.

How Much Does Proofsource Cost?

Proofsource uses one price card for everyone. You pay per brand and per question on each engine, using credits: one credit is one ChatGPT answer, and a Claude answer costs four credits. There are no overage charges.

Plan Price What you get
Self-serve From $9/month Five questions tracked weekly on ChatGPT; more questions, engines and daily scans priced per brand
Free trial Free for 2 days 25 questions on four engines and 200 answers, no card
Managed service From $1,000/month Done-for-you service covering all 10 AI engines

Pricing taken from proofsource.co/pricing on 29 October 2026, in US dollars. Yearly billing gives two months free.

The $9 entry plan is a starting point rather than a realistic programme. Adding Claude, daily scans and 25 or more questions will raise the cost, so build your target set in the pricing calculator before comparing it with a flat-priced rival.

Pros and Cons of Proofsource

Pros

  • Very low entry price, from $9 a month.
  • Turns gaps into specific fixes and then proves the result statistically.
  • Unlimited team members and a free white-label agency account.
  • No overage charges.

Cons

  • Credit-based pricing takes time to understand, and Claude costs four times as much as ChatGPT.
  • The free trial lasts only two days.
  • Gemini, Copilot and Google AI Mode are only available on request.
  • A new product with no independent reviews yet.

Proofsource Alternatives

Tool Focus Entry price (as listed on DMS)
Omnia Agent Tracks, writes content and drafts publisher outreach €79/month, 14-day trial
Peec AI Daily AI search analytics with gap analysis $95/month
Notra Tracks full answers and drafts content for gaps $100/month
RankSpot Tracks AI mentions and writes up to 30 articles a month for small businesses $99/month

Choose Omnia Agent if you want the agent to write and publish for you. Choose Peec AI for richer analytics across more models on flat pricing. Choose Proofsource if you want the lowest cost and the clearest evidence that a change worked.

What We Could Not Verify

We could not check the accuracy of Proofsource’s answer collection, the list of 100+ brands or how its confidence intervals handle engines with heavy personalisation. Those are fair questions for any AI visibility tool, because answers change by location, account and day. The published method is a good sign, but test it on your own questions before you rely on it for reporting.

How to Run a Fair Trial

Two days is short, so prepare first. Write your 25 questions before you start, mixing category questions (“best X for Y”), comparison questions and problem questions your buyers ask. Include three competitors. Use the 200 answers to see your baseline on all four engines, then pick the three lost questions with the most commercial value and read the fixes Proofsource proposes. If they are specific and achievable, the paid plan is worth testing for a month.

How We Scored Proofsource

Criterion Score Why
Features 4/5 Tracking, fixes and statistical re-testing; some engines on request
Pricing transparency and value 4.5/5 Public, low entry price, no overage; credits need modelling
Evidence and credibility 3.5/5 Ranked launch and 100+ brands claimed; very new
Ease of getting started 4/5 Self-serve, no-card trial, but only two days
Overall 4/5 The best low-cost starting point for proving GEO work

Our Verdict on Proofsource

Proofsource is a smart, affordable entry into AI visibility tracking, and its use of confidence intervals answers a question many marketers struggle with: did the work actually change anything? It suits teams that need to justify GEO spend to a sceptical boss or client. The trade-offs are a short trial, a credit model that needs some maths and a young track record.
