Description

What is Glif?

Glif is an AI creative agent that turns a written brief into images, video, audio and ads by picking the right AI model for each step, and its new “AI modelling agency” lets you cast one of 165 AI characters as the face of your campaign. It is made by Spellcasters, Inc., the company named in Glif’s terms. Its homepage line is “One prompt. Every creative AI tool.” We checked everything below against Glif’s own pages on 2 November 2026. We have not used the product.

Glif announced the modelling agency on X on 30 October 2026 (launch post). It drew 2.8 million views and a lot of criticism, which we cover in our full Glif review.

Key Features

One agent, 100+ AI models

Glif’s pricing page lists “100+ AI Models & Tools in One Super Agent”, naming Seedance 2.0, Nano Banana 2, Kling O3 and Veo 3.1. You describe the job and, in Glif’s words, it “chooses the models and does the work across image, video, and audio”. A models page lists what is available.

AI characters for ads

The characters page offers a cast of 165 AI characters with names such as Amara, Freja and Luca. You tap a face, describe your ad and start a chat. Glif’s changelog says Characters first launched on 28 September 2026 with “150+ original characters”, and since 26 October you can create your own character from a single image.

UGC Studio

UGC Studio makes selfie-style product videos. You add up to three product photos, pick a creator and write a line of brief, and Glif shows you the plan before anything renders. Templates include “Talking to camera”, “Get ready with me” and “Honest review”.

MCP and API

Pro and Pro L include the Glif MCP server, which lets you use Glif inside Claude or ChatGPT. Pro L adds “Advanced Automation via MCP/API” and priority support.

How Glif Works

  1. Write a brief. Describe the image, video or ad you want, or attach a product photo.
  2. Cast a character (optional). Pick one of the AI characters, or create your own from one image.
  3. Check the plan. In UGC Studio, Glif shows the plan before it renders.
  4. Render and refine. Each step uses credits. A video take in UGC Studio costs 162 or 208 credits.
  5. Download and publish. Use a paid plan for commercial work, and label AI content where people could be misled.

How Much Does Glif Cost?

Glif sells monthly credit plans. Credits pay for every image, video and audio output, and each model costs a different amount. These are the plans on Glif’s pricing page on 2 November 2026:

Plan Price Credits per month Glif’s estimate of what that buys
Starter $10/month 1,000 About 60 high-end images, 125 regular images, 25 video clips or 5 short-form videos. Limited video generation.
Pro $30/month 3,000 + 300 bonus About 195 high-end images, 415 regular images, 85 video clips or 20 short-form videos. Adds the code sandbox, Glif Genius and MCP.
Pro L $100/month 10,000 + 2,000 bonus About 705 high-end images, 1,500 regular images, 315 video clips or 70 short-form videos. Adds MCP/API automation and priority support.

New users get bonus credits that last up to 30 days. Glif’s pricing FAQ says monthly credits do not roll over and credit pack purchases expire after six months. Under Glif’s terms, payments are “final and non-refundable”, and you must cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.

Is It Safe to Use Glif for Ads?

The tool is legitimate, but how you use AI characters in ads is your responsibility. Watch three areas.

  • Fake testimonials. UGC Studio has an “Honest review” template, and the characters page shows a study-app ad with “a testimonial”. In the UK, the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 bans fake consumer reviews, as the CMA’s fake reviews guidance explains. In the US, the FTC says there is “no blanket prohibition” on AI avatars, but a fake testimonial is still banned.
  • Disclosure. The ASA says there is no blanket UK rule to disclose AI in ads, but the advertising codes apply however an ad is made. The test is whether people would be misled without a disclosure.
  • Rights. Glif’s pricing page promises “Full Commercial Rights”, but its terms, last updated 12 February 2025, say free credits are for personal entertainment only, and that you give Glif a perpetual licence to what you upload. Unless a privacy setting is on, other users may also use your uploads to make their own outputs. Glif’s terms also forbid impersonating any person, so do not build a character from a real person’s photo without their permission.

Who Should Use Glif?

  • Good fit: e-commerce brands that need lots of product images and short videos to test on social.
  • Good fit: creators and agencies who want many AI models behind one subscription, including through MCP.
  • Poor fit: anyone who wants an AI character to pose as a real customer giving a review.
  • Poor fit: regulated sectors or brands that need written confirmation of commercial rights before they use outputs.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Many leading image and video models behind one brief and one bill.
  • A ready-made cast of 165 AI characters, with a plan to approve before rendering.
  • Clear monthly plans from $10, with Glif’s own estimates of what each buys.
  • MCP access for Claude and ChatGPT on Pro and above.

Cons

  • An “Honest review” template makes it easy to create a misleading testimonial.
  • Glif’s terms and pricing page disagree on commercial rights and on credit rollover.
  • Payments are non-refundable, and video takes use credits fast.
  • The launch drew a strong backlash from people worried about jobs and AI faces in ads.

Glif vs Alternatives

Krea and Higgsfield also bundle several image and video models in one place, and Imagine AI covers image and video creation. For AI-presenter and UGC-style ads, Arcads, Creatify and HeyGen are the closest rivals. Glif stands out for picking the models for you and for its named cast of characters. Getting Started

Sign up on glif.app and use the free credits on a test product first. If you plan client or brand work, buy a paid plan and ask Glif to confirm in writing that outputs carry commercial rights, as its terms and pricing page disagree. Keep your uploads private, never use the “Honest review” style to fake a customer, and label AI characters where people might think they are real. Our full Glif review covers the claims we could and could not check.

FAQ

What is Glif?
Glif is an AI creative agent made by Spellcasters, Inc. You describe what you want, and it picks from more than 100 image, video and audio models to make it. On 30 October 2026 it launched what it calls an AI modelling agency, a cast of AI characters you can put in your ads.

How much does Glif cost?
Glif’s monthly plans are Starter at $10 for 1,000 credits, Pro at $30 for 3,000 credits plus 300 bonus credits, and Pro L at $100 for 10,000 credits plus 2,000 bonus credits. Each model costs a different number of credits, and payments are non-refundable under Glif’s terms.

Is there a free version of Glif?
New accounts get some free credits to try it. The UGC Studio page says 50 free credits, and the pricing FAQ says the bonus credits last up to 30 days. Glif’s terms say free credits are for personal entertainment only, so use a paid plan for client or brand work.

What is Glif’s AI modelling agency?
It is a cast of AI characters on glif.app/characters, showing 165 at the time of our check. You pick a face, describe your ad and Glif makes the images or video. The characters are AI-generated, not real people, and since 26 October you can also create your own character from one image.

Can I use Glif for UGC-style ads?
Yes. UGC Studio takes up to three product photos, a creator from the cast and a one-line brief, and shows you the plan before it renders. A take costs 162 or 208 credits, depending on the video model. Make sure the finished ad does not pass off an AI character as a real customer.

Do I need to say an ad uses an AI model?
There is no blanket UK law that says so, but the ASA says the ad rules apply however an ad is made. If people would be misled without a disclosure, you need one. In the US, the FTC says AI avatars are not banned outright, but a fake testimonial is, even when an avatar delivers it.

Do Glif credits roll over?
Glif’s pricing FAQ says monthly subscription credits do not roll over and reset each billing cycle, and credit pack purchases expire after six months. Glif’s terms, last updated in February 2025, say subscription credits do roll over, so check with Glif before you rely on banked credits.

Final Verdict

Glif is a capable, fairly priced way to get many AI models working on one brief, and its cast of AI characters can save a small brand a photoshoot. But the risks are real: the terms and pricing page disagree on commercial rights, payments are non-refundable, and the “Honest review” template makes it easy to break fake-review rules. Use it for clearly labelled product content, not for fake customers.
