Description

What is Krea?

Krea is an AI creative suite that runs in your browser: you generate and edit images, make videos, upscale, train your own models and, since 29 October 2026, turn a website into on-brand static ads with Ad Studio. It mixes its own Krea 3 image model with outside models such as Nano Banana, Seedance, Kling and Veo, and its Enterprise page says it offers “50+ AI models” under one login. Prices start with a Free plan and paid plans from $9 a month, paid in compute units. We checked everything below against Krea’s own pages on 30 October 2026. We have not tested it hands-on.

Key Features

Krea 3 image generation and editing

Krea 3 is Krea’s own image model, launched on 15 October 2026. Krea says most edits come back “in under 8 seconds” at native 2K, that it takes up to 6 reference images per edit, and that it keeps products and characters consistent. It became the default model in the app on 16 October. Krea 3 Ultra, the top quality setting, needs the Max plan or above.

Ad Studio for static ads

Ad Studio reads your website and builds a brand kit: logo, colours, fonts, tone, audience, selling points and products with photos and prices. It reads Shopify catalogues too, and a kit holds up to 20 products. It then makes ads in 4:5 and 1:1 (feed), 9:16 (Stories and Reels) and 16:9 (landscape), up to 12 per batch. You can preview them in Facebook, Instagram and Reels mockups and download a ZIP (launch blog). It makes static images only, not video ads.

Krea Agent

Krea Agent plans a job, picks models and makes images and videos from a short instruction. It has been open on every plan since 10 September 2026 (Agent plans doc). In Ad Studio, it is how you change a headline, a background or a size.

Video, upscaling, real-time and training

Paid plans unlock video models such as Seedance, Kling and Veo 3.1, image upscaling up to 22K, LoRA training on your own images, and Krea Nodes for repeatable workflows. The real-time canvas renders as you draw. Free accounts get Krea 3, Krea Agent and the real-time models only.

API and MCP

Developers get a REST API with async jobs and webhooks, billed separately from app plans, and an MCP server for Claude and other agents. The changelog shows weekly updates, including Seedance in the API on 28 October 2026.

How Krea Works

  1. Sign up. The Free plan needs no credit card and refills 100 compute units every day.
  2. Pick a tool or ask the Agent. Choose Image, Video, Enhancer, Realtime or Ad Studio, or describe the job to Krea Agent.
  3. Spend compute units. Every generation costs units. The cost depends on the model, size, length and quality, and Krea says generations cost less on higher plans (compute units guide).
  4. For ads, paste your website. Check the brand kit, pick placements and products, then generate and refine with the Agent.
  5. Download. Export single files or a ZIP. Commercial use needs a paid plan.

How Much Does Krea Cost?

Prices below are from Krea’s pricing page on 30 October 2026, in US dollars per month. The page labels its yearly toggle “40% off”.

Plan Monthly billing Yearly billing Compute units Krea’s own estimate
Free $0 $0 100 a day No card needed; no commercial licence
Basic $9 $5 a month on the plan card ($5.25 in the comparison table) 5,000 a month About 112 Nano Banana 2 images or 15 Seedance 2.0 Fast videos
Pro (most popular) $35 $21 a month 20,000 a month 450 Nano Banana 2 images or about 65 Seedance 2.5 videos
Max From $105 (60k units) From $63 a month 40,000 to 100,000 a month 1,350 Nano Banana 2 images or about 197 Seedance 2.5 videos at 60k
Business From $200 (80k units) From $160 a month 20,000 to 1.5 million a month Up to 50 members; 1,800 Nano Banana 2 images at 80k
Enterprise Custom Custom Custom SSO, SLA support, custom packages

Basic adds all image models, selected video models, 3D and lip-sync, LoRA training, upscaling and a commercial licence. Pro adds all video models, App Builder and early access. Max adds unlimited relaxed generations and LoRA training on up to 2,000 images. Business adds business terms with no-training clauses, SAML SSO and per-member spend limits. Units on Basic, Pro and Max do not roll over. Note that the Business yearly price is 20% off, not 40%, and the “videos” estimates assume Krea’s chosen settings: longer or higher-resolution clips cost more.

Is Krea Ad Studio Free? What to Check Before You Pay

Ad Studio needs a paid plan. Krea’s launch blog says it is “live today… on every paid plan, from Basic up”, that “Brand research and product import are free” and that “Ads use your compute units”. Krea’s launch post on X said “try it now for free”, and many creator posts repeated “first few are free”. Krea does not publish how many units one ad costs, so check the estimate in the app before you generate a full batch.

Two other things are worth reading first. Krea’s Terms of Service, last updated on 20 May 2024, give Krea a “perpetual, royalty-free… sublicensable and transferable license” to what you upload, including for promoting its service. And paid plans renew automatically, with no prorated refund if you cancel. Business plans add contract terms with no-training clauses.

Who Should Use Krea?

  • Good fit: designers and creative teams who want many image and video models, upscaling and training in one subscription.
  • Good fit: online shops that need lots of on-brand static ads for Meta placements and already have a website with clear product pages.
  • Poor fit: anyone who needs video ads or UGC-style ads from Ad Studio; it makes static images only.
  • Poor fit: heavy video users on a tight budget, since video uses units fast and units on individual plans expire monthly.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • One workspace for images, video, upscaling, 3D, training and ads, with 50+ models.
  • Krea 3 is fast and built for editing, with up to 6 reference images.
  • Ad Studio builds a brand kit from a URL and keeps products and claims tied to it.
  • Generous Free plan, public prices, an API, MCP and weekly updates.

Cons

  • Compute units make real costs hard to predict, and Ad Studio’s cost per ad is not published.
  • Units on Basic, Pro and Max expire every month.
  • Ad Studio is static only and needs a paid plan, despite “free” in the launch post.
  • Broad content licence in Terms dated 2024, and Reddit users report slow support on billing issues.

Krea is a browser-based AI creative suite. It puts image generation and editing, video, upscaling up to 22K, 3D, LoRA training, a real-time canvas, node workflows, Krea Agent and Ad Studio in one workspace, with its own Krea 3 model alongside models such as Nano Banana, Seedance, Kling and Veo.

How much does Krea cost?
Krea has a Free plan with 100 compute units a day. Paid plans are Basic at $9 a month (5,000 units), Pro at $35 a month (20,000 units), Max from $105 a month (60,000 units) and Business from $200 a month (80,000 units, up to 50 members). Yearly billing is cheaper. Enterprise is custom.

What is Krea Ad Studio?
Ad Studio is a Krea tool, launched on 29 October 2026, that reads your website, builds an editable brand kit and product list, and then makes static ads with Krea 3 in 4:5, 1:1, 9:16 and 16:9 sizes, up to 12 ads per batch. You edit the ads by asking Krea Agent and download them one at a time or as a ZIP.

Is Krea Ad Studio free?
No. Krea’s launch blog says Ad Studio is on every paid plan from Basic up. Brand research and product import are free, but the ads use your compute units. Krea’s launch post on X said try it now for free, so check the plan and the unit cost in the app before you generate.

Can I use Krea images commercially?
Yes, on paid plans. Krea’s pricing page lists a commercial licence on Basic and above. The Free plan does not include one.

Do Krea compute units roll over?
Not on Basic, Pro or Max: those units reset each month. Business and Enterprise units roll over, for up to 12 months on annual plans. Extra compute packs last 90 days.

Does Krea work with Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes. Krea has an MCP server for Claude and other agents, Ad Studio has a Generate in Claude option, and Krea added a plugin in ChatGPT on 1 September 2026, according to its changelog.

Final Verdict

Krea is one of the most complete AI creative suites around, with its own fast editing model, a long list of outside models and now a useful Ad Studio for static ads. The catches are cost and terms: compute units make budgets hard to predict, Ad Studio needs a paid plan, and the content licence is broad. Try it free, then buy the smallest plan that covers what you actually make.
