With years of working in executive positions for non-profit companies, and ten years in tourism marketing and management, I discovered a love of helping people get things done. The majority of my experience has been writing for public relations, fundraising, and marketing initiatives. I have a positive outlook in life and my work tends to reflect an honest authenticity for projects that I find fascinating and vital.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English combined with a minor in Paralegal Studies; I found a focus in technical writing and communication in school. Additionally, an Associate of Arts degree in theater has empowered me as an energetic, confident, and dynamic force ready to take on any challenge and succeed with grace and professionalism. I also have excellent computer and organizational skills as well as a strong work ethic and a desire to serve through public relations and marketing.
For almost ten years, I worked as the Executive Director (and sole employee) of the Carthage Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. I have over fifteen years experience in special event planning, public relations, and marketing. I believe that my interpersonal and communication skills combined with my enthusiasm and dedication benefit my work performance.
In addition to writing, my experience as sole employee and working with small teams has given me a wide variety of talents that can accent writing skills. I have experience in photography, graphic design, editing, market research, search engine optimization, website development, social media, and more. I feel confident that I can fill any role needed in a small business.
