Different AI Review 2026: Can an AI System Run B2B Demand Gen for a Lean Team?

October 22, 2026

Different AI review 2026: AI marketing system that runs B2B demand generation across LinkedIn ads, landing pages and email (Digital Marketing Supermarket)

Different is an AI marketing system for lean B2B teams. You set the goals, budget and brand rules; Different suggests the target accounts, personas and angles, builds personalised LinkedIn ads, emails and landing pages, launches them, and recommends changes to budgets, messages and offers as results come in. It came out of stealth on 20 October 2026 with $48M led by General Catalyst (see the PR Newswire announcement). There’s no public price; you book a demo. Our verdict: a serious tool for B2B teams whose pipeline depends on LinkedIn and email, but you’ll be buying on a demo and a handful of case studies.

For the quick facts, see the Different listing on Digital Marketing Supermarket. Below we cover how Different works, what its early customers report, the questions to ask on the demo and how it compares with other AI marketing automation tools.

TL;DR: our verdict on Different

  • Verdict: The most serious new AI system for B2B demand generation we’ve seen this year. Worth a demo if LinkedIn is your main paid channel, but it’s unpriced, sales-led and brand new.
  • DMS score: 3.0/5 (Worth a careful trial)
  • Price: No public pricing; book a demo for a quote (checked 22 October 2026)
  • Best for: Lean B2B marketing teams of two to five people running account-based programmes across LinkedIn, email and landing pages
  • Not for: B2C brands, solo founders on a small budget and teams that want to try before they talk to sales
  • Biggest caveat: There’s no public price or trial, and it launched on 20 October 2026, so there are few independent reports yet

Why B2B demand gen is ripe for an AI system

B2B demand generation is a coordination problem. A single campaign might need LinkedIn ads for three personas, a landing page per industry, an email sequence per segment and a follow-up when a target account visits the pricing page. Most lean teams can run one or two of those programmes properly. The rest is spreadsheets, handoffs and a calendar that never stops.

Different’s pitch is that a marketing team shouldn’t have to grow in headcount to grow in output. CEO Ajeet Singh, who co-founded Nutanix and ThoughtSpot, writes in the launch post that “doing more marketing meant hiring more specialists and buying more tools”, and that every “more” brought “more coordination overhead with it” (see Different’s launch post). If you want the broader picture first, read how AI marketing agents are transforming B2B marketing and our list of the 25 best AI tools for B2B marketers.

What is Different?

Different is built by Different Labs, Inc. in San Francisco. Its co-founders are Ajeet Singh (CEO), Abhishek Pani and Abhinav Yajurvedi (see Different’s company page). The company says it spent a year refining the product with early customers before launch. The $48M round was led by General Catalyst, with Lightspeed taking part.

The homepage describes Different as “the AI marketing system that lets lean B2B teams create, orchestrate and optimize demand generation campaigns across channels” (see Different’s website). The word “system” is deliberate: Different isn’t a copywriting tool or an ad launcher but an attempt to run whole programmes.

Key features of Different

Journeys across channels

Different builds journeys that combine LinkedIn ads, landing pages and email, with content for each step. Each piece is meant to fit its stage, target account, industry and buyer persona. The homepage example shows a “mid-market expansion” journey with eight LinkedIn ad variants, eight landing pages and 1,200 personalised emails (see Different’s website).

Triggers based on account behaviour

Steps can run on a schedule or when an account does something. The homepage example queues an email to a target account’s head of compliance after the company visited the landing page twice in a week. That’s account-based marketing (ABM) logic most lean teams can’t wire up by hand.

Recommendations while the campaign runs

Different suggests changes to message, offer and budget as results come in, for example shifting 20% of budget to the best-performing persona’s ad or swapping a demo offer for an ROI calculator in one industry. What works carries into the next campaign.

AI visibility tracking

The homepage says Different “also tracks your AI visibility and recommends content to improve it”. There are few details on the site, so if AI search matters to you, compare it with a dedicated tracker such as Peec AI (see our Peec AI review).

The system underneath

Different’s launch post lists what the company believes a reliable AI marketing system needs:

  • Shared memory of preferences, business context and results by channel, persona, industry and segment.
  • “Production-grade two-way integrations” with ad platforms, email tools and CRM.
  • A way to handle failures such as a rejected ad, a list that won’t sync or a budget that spends too fast.
  • Evals that check the quality of the system’s work before changes ship and on live campaigns.
  • Guardrails that stop anything off-brand or over budget before it goes out.
  • Closed-loop learning from every channel.

This is a thoughtful list, and it doubles as a set of questions to ask on a demo.

How Different works, step by step

According to Different’s launch post:

  1. Marketers set business goals. Different suggests the accounts, segments, personas and messaging angles for you to approve.
  2. Marketers set the budget and brand boundaries. Different says it keeps every asset and every dollar inside them.
  3. Marketers review and approve campaigns. Different builds ads, emails and landing pages personalised by account, persona and industry, then launches them.
  4. Marketers decide the next move. Different recommends changes to budgets, messaging and offers, and carries what works into the next campaign.

Notice that a human approves at every stage. Different is designed as a system the team directs, not an autopilot.

What Different’s early customers report

These results come from Different’s launch post and are the company’s own reports:

  • Descope: two people from its marketing team run up to seven programmes at once across LinkedIn, email and landing pages, reaching 2,800 target accounts. Different says Descope “found and redirected 60% of paid spend that was being wasted on suboptimal targeting”. Abhishek Iyer, Senior Director of Marketing at Descope, says the sales team can now “see what accounts are engaging with, what messages are resonating”.
  • Motif: the team went from running one campaign at a time to running and optimising more than a dozen across four channels in one month, with the same three people. Motif co-founder and CEO Amar Hanspal: “Different lets us scale our team without having to scale our team.”

The homepage also names Straiker, Rox and Lensing as customers. These are specific, named results, which is more than most launch-stage tools offer, but they’re still vendor-reported and from early design partners.

How much does Different cost?

Plan Price How to get it
Different Not published Book a demo on different.ai
Free trial None listed n/a
Ad spend Separate Paid to the ad platforms

No pricing was published when we checked on 22 October 2026, and the /pricing URL showed a “page not found” message. That’s normal for a sales-led B2B product at launch, but it means you can’t compare value until you’ve had a call. Budget for the platform fee on top of your LinkedIn ad spend; our comprehensive guide to LinkedIn ads covers what that spend typically involves.

Different vs building your own agents with Claude or ChatGPT

A fair question for any technical marketing team is whether it needs Different at all, or whether it could get most of the way with ChatGPT, Claude and some home-made agents. Different’s own launch post acknowledges the option: “ChatGPT and Claude make it easier to create content, and a smart team can build agents to handle more and more complex tasks.” Its argument is that running marketing “is more than a set of individual tasks being sped up with AI” (see Different’s launch post).

In practice, the do-it-yourself route works well for content. Our guide to using Claude skills for marketing and the free Marketing Skills library will get a lean team writing better ads, emails and landing-page copy in an afternoon. Where the home-made route breaks down is everything Different lists as its system requirements: two-way integrations that don’t fail silently, budget guardrails, memory of what worked for which persona and a closed loop from results back into the next campaign. Those take engineering time to build and maintain.

A sensible way to decide:

  • Build your own if your bottleneck is producing assets, you have someone technical on the team and you run one or two programmes at a time.
  • Buy a system like Different if your bottleneck is running many programmes at once across LinkedIn, email and landing pages, and the cost of a failed sync or an overspent budget is high.

Where Different fits in your stack

Different sits between your strategy and your channels. It doesn’t replace your CRM, your ad accounts or your email tool; it relies on two-way integrations with them. Expect to keep your CRM as the record of pipeline, your LinkedIn Campaign Manager account for billing and your existing analytics for attribution. That’s healthy: if you stop using Different, your data and accounts stay where they were. Ask on the demo how much of the learned memory you can export.

For channels Different doesn’t cover, such as organic search, AI answers and community, you’ll still need other tools. Our explainer on generative engine optimisation is a good place to start on the AI search side.

Questions to ask on the Different demo

Our suggested checklist, based on Different’s own description of the system. We haven’t had a demo.

  1. Pricing: is it a platform fee, per seat, per programme or tied to ad spend? Is there a minimum term?
  2. Integrations: which ad platforms, email tools and CRMs are supported today, and which are two-way? Does it work with HubSpot or Salesforce?
  3. Channels: beyond LinkedIn, which ad networks can it launch on?
  4. Landing pages: where are they hosted, and on which domain?
  5. Email deliverability: which sending domain and tool are used, and how are lists and opt-outs handled?
  6. Measurement: how does it attribute pipeline? Can you see the evals and guardrail logs?
  7. Data: who owns the memory of your results if you leave?

Honest caveats

  • Brand new: Different launched publicly on 20 October 2026. There are no independent reviews yet.
  • No public price or trial: expect a sales process.
  • Personalisation at scale needs care: 1,200 personalised emails are only as good as your data and your compliance with email law where your prospects live. In the UK and EU, that means checking your lawful basis for B2B outreach.
  • Vendor-reported results: Descope’s and Motif’s numbers come from Different’s launch post.
  • B2B only: it isn’t built for consumer brands.

Pros and cons of Different

Pros

  • Runs whole programmes across LinkedIn, landing pages and email
  • Account-based triggers and personalisation by persona and industry
  • Human approval at every stage, with budget and brand guardrails
  • Named customers with specific results
  • A funded team with a strong enterprise track record

Cons

  • No public pricing or trial
  • Brand new, with few independent reports
  • Integration depth isn’t clear from the website
  • Not suited to B2C or very small budgets

Who should use Different, and who shouldn’t

Use it if you’re a B2B marketing team of two to five people with a defined list of target accounts, a meaningful LinkedIn budget and more programme ideas than hands to run them. It’s also worth a look if you’re a SaaS marketer struggling to make paid work; our article on why most SaaS brands struggle with paid ads explains the common failure points Different is trying to solve.

Skip it if you’re a consumer brand (look at Fastlane), a solo founder who needs a cheap all-rounder (look at Okara), or a team that wants to try software before speaking to sales.

Different vs the alternatives

Tool Type Choose it over Different if
Okara AI CMO You need organic growth (SEO, AI search, Reddit, social) with a free plan and public pricing
Fastlane Ad agent You’re a consumer brand on Meta ads
Protaige Multi-agent campaign generator You want full campaigns planned and produced, then launched yourself
MarketerX AI CMO platform You want campaign plans quickly without an enterprise sales process
Migma AI AI email Email is the only channel you need help with
Articos AI market research You need to test messaging with synthetic buyer personas before you spend

How we scored Different

Every DMS review uses the same five criteria, each marked out of 5, and the overall score is the average. This is a desk review: we scored what the vendor publishes and what independent sources confirm, not a paid hands-on test.

Criterion Score Why
Features and depth 4/5 Journeys across LinkedIn ads, landing pages and email, with memory, guardrails and AI visibility tracking.
Pricing transparency and value 1.5/5 No public price, no trial, demo only.
Evidence and credibility 3.5/5 Named customers with specific results and a funded, named team; results are still vendor-reported.
Risk and compliance 4/5 Approval at each stage, budget and brand guardrails, and no grey-hat tactics.
Ease of getting started 2/5 Sales-led onboarding and integrations with your ad, email and CRM stack.
Overall 3.0/5 Worth a careful trial

Verdict: is Different worth a demo?

If you run B2B demand generation with a small team and LinkedIn is your main paid channel, yes. Different has the clearest thinking we’ve seen about what an AI marketing system needs (memory, integrations, evals and guardrails), named customers with specific results and approval at every step. It also has no public price, no trial and only a few days of public history. Go into the demo with the checklist above, ask for a paid pilot with a clear success measure, and judge it on pipeline rather than activity.
