Notra Review 2026: Pricing, Claims and What We Could Verify

October 28, 2026 · 12 min read

Notra review 2026: a GEO tool that shows what AI engines say about your brand, from $100 a month (Digital Marketing Supermarket)

Notra is a legitimate, transparent GEO tool that shows whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other AI engines name your brand, but it is brand new, and we reviewed it from public pages without using it. It asks your buyer questions on a schedule, keeps every answer, tracks AI crawlers on your site and drafts content for the gaps. It launched on Product Hunt on 27 October 2026 and finished sixth that day (see the daily leaderboard, checked 28 October 2026). Our verdict: it scores 3.7 out of 5, which is a careful trial rather than a recommendation, because the evidence is mostly vendor-supplied and the product is days old.

For the quick facts, see the Notra listing. If you are weighing it against established trackers, start with our Peec AI review and our Peec AI vs Profound comparison.

TL;DR: our verdict on Notra

  • Verdict: A real, transparent and well documented GEO tool for teams who want to see what AI engines say about them and what to write next. Worth a careful trial on your own prompts, not on its sample dashboards.
  • DMS score: 3.7/5 (Worth a careful trial)
  • Price: Free plan for AI traffic analytics; Starter $100/month, Growth $250, Scale $550, Enterprise custom (monthly billing, USD); yearly gives 2 months free
  • Best for: Startups, SaaS and developer-tool teams, and agencies, who invest in content and want AI engines to recommend them
  • Not for: Teams that need a long-established vendor with independent reviews, or want to try prompt tracking without paying
  • Biggest caveat: It is brand new, the homepage dashboards are sample data, and we have not used the product

Notra scorecard 2026: free AI traffic plan, paid prompt tracking from $100 a month, launched on Product Hunt on 27 October 2026, with sample-data dashboards and no independent reviews found
Notra at a glance, checked on 28 October 2026 against its pricing, features and About pages, its legal pages and its Product Hunt launch.

Is Notra real? What we checked

A fast Product Hunt launch is not proof of a product, so we checked the company before the features. All of this is from public pages on 28 October 2026.

None of that shows the GEO product is accurate. It does show an accountable company with real documentation, not a landing page. We found no funding announcement and no customer case studies, so we claim neither.

What Notra does

Notra’s own description is a three-step loop, which we have summarised as ask, measure and fix:

  • Ask: it sends your buyer questions to each engine you choose, on a schedule
  • Measure: it keeps every answer and records mentions, position, competitors named and pages cited
  • Fix: it ranks the gaps and drafts content for you to review

It began as a tool that turned shipped work into changelogs and launch posts, and that writer still runs inside it (see the About page). Two of the three Product Hunt reviews we read praise the changelog writer, not GEO tracking, so the GEO side has the shorter track record.

Notra loop in three steps: ask your buyer questions on each AI engine, measure mentions, position and cited pages, then fix the gaps with ranked content briefs
Notra’s own description, summarised as ask, measure and fix from its homepage and features page. We have not tested it.

Mention rate and share of voice

Each prompt goes to each model you turn on, with web search where the engine has it. You see who mentioned you, in which position, and whether that moved since the last scan. Share of voice shows who gets recommended when you don’t, and you can add competitors and the misspellings people use for them (see the features page).

Full answers and follow-ups

Every scan keeps the whole answer, so you can read the sentence an engine wrote and the pages it pulled. Engines with web search show the searches they made, and you can ask a follow-up in the thread to test whether a recommendation survives a pushback. In his launch post, Dominik Koch adds that conversations and personas follow a realistic buyer through follow-up questions (see Product Hunt).

AI traffic and content gaps

Notra’s traffic tracker labels hits from known AI agents as training crawlers, index builders, assistants reading a page to answer someone, or people clicking through, and it says a crawler fetch is not counted as a citation. It needs no script tag: you add the @usenotra/geo package as middleware in a framework such as Next.js, Astro or SvelteKit, and Notra says anything human is dropped before it is stored. The gaps view ranks questions where engines answer without naming you, and the writer plans a guide, listicle or comparison from them.

Which engines does it cover?

Notra says it scans ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity with web search, plus Google AI Overview and coding agents that research live, while models from Grok, Moonshot, Z.AI, DeepSeek and Meta run without web search (see the FAQ on the Notra homepage). You choose which run, and its pricing page lists specific model versions for each. That is wider than some competitors, but a longer list means more answers used, which is where the allowance matters.

How much does Notra cost?

Notra has a free plan for AI traffic analytics and agent feedback, up to 1 million events a month. Prompt tracking and the writer come with paid plans, which differ in answers and traffic events (see Notra’s pricing page, monthly billing, checked 28 October 2026).

Plan Monthly Yearly AI answers / month Traffic events / month Projects
Free $0 $0 Not included 1M n/a
Starter $100 $1,000 2,000 5M 1
Growth $250 $2,500 6,000 15M 3
Scale $550 $5,500 12,000 30M 10
Enterprise Custom Custom Unlimited Unlimited Unlimited

Notra paid plans per month: Starter $100 for 2,000 AI answers, Growth $250 for 6,000, Scale $550 for 12,000, Enterprise custom, plus a free traffic-analytics plan
The paid plans side by side, with the free plan for reference. Any per-answer figures are our arithmetic, assuming you use the full allowance.

Three details matter. First, an answer is one prompt on one engine in one language on one scan, so Notra’s own example of ten prompts across five engines in two languages every 48 hours comes to about 1,500 answers a month. Second, by our arithmetic, 25 prompts on three engines scanned daily is 2,250 answers a month, which is more than Starter includes, while the same set scanned weekly is about 300. Third, the plans work out at roughly 5 cents per tracked answer on Starter, 4 cents on Growth and 5 cents on Scale (our arithmetic, not Notra’s).

Paid plans also include monthly allowances of image generations, long-form posts and references (100, 500 and 1,000 references on Starter, Growth and Scale, then $0.05, $0.04 and $0.03 each), plus unlimited social posts, and zero data retention is a 20% add-on on those plans. If you only want to know which AI crawlers visit your site, the free plan may be enough.

Data, privacy and zero data retention

Notra publishes a data processing agreement and a sub-processor list. The list names Vercel, Cloudflare, Upstash, Unkey, Tinybird and Databricks (Neon) for hosting and storage, says Notra, Inc. is established in the United States, and covers transfers with Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the EU, UK and Switzerland (see the sub-processors page). The sub-processor list says the visitor IP address in AI traffic requests is held in memory only, and the DPA says it is never stored.

The detail on model providers is the part to read. Per the DPA, requests through the AI gateways are sent with prompt training disallowed, but Notra’s default gateway does not offer zero data retention and may keep prompts for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. Workspaces with the zero data retention add-on are restricted to providers that support it, which excludes some models. That is a specific, honest policy, but the protection costs 20% extra on Starter, Growth and Scale. We could not test any of this, so ask for the details in writing if you track sensitive prompts.

Claims and numbers: what we could check

Notra’s homepage dashboards are filled with sample data, and the site says so. That matters for how you read them.

Claim Where it appears Our check
Dashboard figures such as a 71% mention rate and 31% share of voice Homepage and features page Labelled “sample numbers, made up for this page”; not real results
Hits from 66 known AI agents Homepage Vendor’s own count; not independently checked
Sixth place, 147 points and 21 comments on launch day Product Hunt leaderboard Confirmed on the 27 October 2026 list
Three Product Hunt reviews, rated 5.0 Product Hunt page Confirmed, but two we read are about the changelog writer, and it is a small sample
“Open source” Not on Notra’s own site; seen in a social draft Not confirmed: only the SDK, MCP, CLI and similar tools are MIT-licensed, and we could not find the main application’s source

The homepage also shows a row of customer logos under “used by teams that ship every week”. We did not verify any of them, so we name none. For a wider view of how these trackers behave in practice, see our piece on how AI search trackers are changing brand visibility.

What we could not verify

  • We have not used Notra, so we cannot say how accurate its scans are or how good its drafts are.
  • Its dashboards are sample data, and we found no independent review or customer case study for the GEO product.
  • We found no funding announcement, so we cannot comment on how long the company will be around.
  • We could not confirm the “open source” description we saw in a social draft.
  • We did not test the traffic tracker’s claim that human visits are dropped before storage, or the zero data retention behaviour.

Who should use Notra (and who should not)

  • Good fit: startups, SaaS and developer-tool teams that publish content, agencies that track several brands, and sites that want to see which AI crawlers visit them
  • Poor fit: teams that need a long-established vendor with independent reviews, large enterprises that need a proven reporting suite, and anyone who wants prompt tracking for free

Pros and cons of Notra

Pros

  • Public self-serve prices from $100 a month, with a calculator and a free traffic-analytics plan
  • Keeps the full answers and separates a crawler fetch from a real citation
  • Published DPA, sub-processor list and a zero data retention option
  • MCP server, CLI and SDK under MIT licences, plus public docs

Cons

  • Very new, with no independent reviews or funding announcement found
  • Prompt tracking is paid only, and answers can run out quickly with daily scans
  • Dashboard figures on the site are sample data
  • Zero data retention costs extra, and we have not tested the product

How to run a fair trial

Because the evidence is thin, make the trial your test. Write 10 to 25 questions a buyer would ask before choosing a tool like yours, add your three closest competitors, and scan on the engines your buyers actually use. Read the full answers before you look at the scores, check every cited page, and compare what Notra reports with the same questions typed into ChatGPT by hand. If you are new to the topic, read our guides to generative engine optimization and answer engine optimization first, and browse more AI search visibility tools.

How we scored Notra

Every DMS review uses the same five criteria, each marked out of 5, and the overall score is the average. This is a desk review: we scored what the vendor publishes and what independent sources confirm, not a paid hands-on test.

Criterion Score Why
Features and depth 4/5 Mention rate, share of voice, full answers with sources, crawler analytics, content gaps and a writer, plus an MCP server, CLI and SDK.
Pricing transparency and value 4/5 Public self-serve prices from $100 a month, a calculator and a free traffic plan; prompt tracking is paid and the answer allowance can run out fast.
Evidence and credibility 3/5 A real company with legal pages and a ranked launch, but a brand-new GEO product with no independent reviews and sample-data dashboards.
Risk and compliance 3.5/5 DPA, sub-processor list and a zero data retention option, but zero data retention costs extra and we could not test data handling.
Ease of getting started 4/5 Free to start, self-serve sign-up, docs, a calculator and a free traffic-analytics tier.
Overall 3.7/5 Worth a careful trial

Our verdict on Notra

Notra looks like a serious, honestly documented product from a real company, and the idea of measuring AI answers and then writing for the gaps is sound for teams that already invest in content. Its pricing is public, it publishes its legal and data terms, and it separates crawler hits from citations, which many trackers do not.

The score is held back by what we cannot see: it is days old as a GEO product, its dashboards are sample data, and there are no independent reviews yet. If you want to see what ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini say about you, start on the free traffic plan, then trial Starter on your own prompts. If you want a longer track record, compare it with the Peec AI listing and our other share of voice tools first.

FAQs

What is Notra? Notra is a GEO tool that asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other AI engines the questions your buyers ask. It shows whether your brand appears, which competitors appear instead and which pages were cited, then drafts content to close the gaps.

Is Notra legit? Yes, on our checks. Notra, Inc. operates it, it publishes a privacy policy, data processing agreement and sub-processor list, and it finished sixth on Product Hunt on 27 October 2026. It is brand new, we found no independent reviews, and we could not verify its accuracy.

How much does Notra cost? The free plan covers AI traffic analytics and agent feedback only. Paid plans with prompt tracking are $100 a month on Starter, $250 on Growth and $550 on Scale, with custom Enterprise pricing. Yearly billing gives two months free.

Does Notra have a free plan? Yes, but only for AI traffic analytics and agent feedback, up to 1 million events a month. Tracking prompts across AI engines needs a paid plan.

What counts as an AI answer on Notra? One prompt asked to one engine in one language on one scan. Notra’s example is ten prompts across five engines in two languages, scanned every 48 hours, which is about 1,500 answers a month.

Is Notra open source? We could not confirm that. Its TypeScript SDK, MCP server and CLI are MIT-licensed on GitHub, but we could not find the main application’s source code, so we do not describe Notra as open source.

Are the numbers on Notra’s homepage real? No. Its homepage dashboards are labelled as sample numbers made up for the page. They show what the product’s tables look like, not real results.

What are good alternatives to Notra? Peec AI for a dedicated AI answer tracker, Profound for a larger platform, Opinly for SEO automation with an LLM visibility add-on and Overrank for daily keyword-targeted SEO articles.
