Our journey began in 1984, when Departures magazine printed its first issue. The original publication celebrated a far-flung yet increasingly connected world. It provided readers with an armchair passport to novel places, people, and ideas.

In each issue, we invited you to explore the globe — to discover beautiful objects, inspiring destinations, and influential creatives. We introduced you to visionaries, uncommon sights, and fresh style and design finds. After all, a departure marks both a beginning and a new way of doing things. That’s why we’re always evolving the stories we tell and how we tell them.

Our new immersive digital experience was created with this legacy in mind. Featuring eye-opening perspectives, personal recommendations, and unique insights from diverse contributors, it brings Card Members more unexpected and candid perspectives more often via a complimentary digital subscription, exclusive newsletters, and special-edition publications.
