Claude Haiku 5.5 is Anthropic’s cheapest current model, and it suits the repetitive jobs that eat marketers’ time. Think tagging thousands of search terms, theming reviews, drafting product and meta descriptions, cleaning CRM fields and triaging comments. It costs $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens, and half that through the Batch API (Anthropic pricing). Below are 10 bulk jobs, what each costs at list prices (with the arithmetic shown), and a copy-paste prompt for each.

About this guide: prices and capabilities come from Anthropic’s launch post, model pages and API docs, all checked on 31 October 2026. The prompts are our own templates, not benchmarked. Test them on a small sample first.

Key takeaways

  • Haiku 5.5 launched on 7 October 2026 for “high-volume, cost-sensitive tasks” like summaries and classification (Anthropic).
  • API price: $0.10 input and $0.50 output per million tokens for prompts up to 100,000 tokens. Anthropic says it costs around 75% less to run than Haiku 4.5 on average.
  • The Batch API halves the price ($0.05/$0.25), takes up to 100,000 requests per batch, and most batches finish within an hour (Anthropic).
  • Caching your fixed instructions cuts their cost to $0.01 per million tokens once they are cached. The minimum cacheable prompt is 512 tokens (Anthropic).
  • At those prices, most of the 10 jobs below cost well under $1 per thousand items. Checking the output is the real cost.
  • Use Haiku for well-defined, repeatable work. Use Sonnet 5.5 or Opus 5.5 for strategy and long-form writing.

What is Claude Haiku 5.5?

Haiku 5.5 is the smallest model in Anthropic’s current line-up, alongside Fable 5.1, Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 (Anthropic models overview). Anthropic calls it “the cheapest, fastest, and most capable small model we’ve ever released”. It says the model “reliably handles quick and repetitive workloads (like summaries, compactions, database queries, and classification requests)” (Anthropic launch post).

Anthropic’s Haiku page lists five main uses (Anthropic):

  • High-volume text tasks such as “classification, summarization, and text generation”
  • Real-time chat and support
  • Working as a subagent for larger models
  • Browser and desktop automation such as “form filling, data entry, and moving information between apps”
  • Simple coding

It’s also the first Haiku with effort controls, so you can trade cost against intelligence for each task.

The specs, from Anthropic’s models overview:

  • A 1M-token context window and up to 128K tokens of output
  • Training data up to June 2026
  • Text and image input, text output

Anthropic says Haiku 5.5 is available on all platforms, including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. In the Claude apps, its plans page lists Haiku on every plan, Free included (Anthropic).

What do early customers say?

These are quotes Anthropic published, not independent tests (Anthropic):

  • HubSpot says Haiku 5.5 “got the best score we’ve seen on this suite yet, at 92.8% averaged over three runs” on its CRM tasks.
  • Box says it “scored 11 points higher than Haiku 4.5 at about half the latency”.
  • Asana reports “over a 30% reduction in latency” against the model it uses today.

How much does Claude Haiku 5.5 cost?

Price per million tokens Prompts up to 100K tokens Prompts over 100K tokens
Input $0.10 $0.50
Output $0.50 $2.50
Cache reads $0.01 $0.05
Cache writes (5-minute) $0.125 $0.625
Batch input / output $0.05 / $0.25 $0.25 / $1.25

Sources: Anthropic’s launch post and API pricing docs. For comparison, Haiku 4.5 costs $1/$5 and Sonnet 5.5 $2/$10.

The main thing to manage is prompt length. Haiku 5.5 is priced by the length of each prompt, so keep each request under 100,000 tokens to stay on the lower rate. Anthropic says prompts of that size “make up around 90% of requests to our previous Haiku model”. Every bulk job below sends one row or a small group of rows per request, so it stays well under that limit.

What are the 10 best bulk marketing jobs for Haiku 5.5?

We picked these because they’re repetitive, well defined and easy to check. That’s the kind of work Anthropic describes Haiku as built for. Each prompt follows the same pattern:

  1. Fixed instructions and examples first, so you can cache them.
  2. One item per request.
  3. A strict output format, such as JSON or CSV, so you can paste the results straight back into a spreadsheet.

Replace anything in [BRACKETS].

1. How do I sort search terms by intent and find negative keywords?

Export your search terms report and ask Haiku to label each term. It flags likely negatives, but you make the final decision. This pairs with our Google Ads checklist.

Prompt 1: Search-term intent tagger

You label Google Ads search terms for [BRAND], which sells [PRODUCTS/SERVICES] to [AUDIENCE] in [COUNTRY].

For each search term, return one line of JSON:
{"term": "...", "intent": "buy|compare|research|support|job|irrelevant", "matches_offer": "yes|no|unsure", "negative_candidate": true|false, "reason": "max 12 words"}

Rules:
- negative_candidate is true only if intent is job or irrelevant, or matches_offer is no.
- If you are unsure, use "unsure". Do not guess.
- Output JSON only.

Examples:
[3-5 LABELLED EXAMPLES FROM YOUR ACCOUNT]

Search term: [TERM]

2. How do I tag reviews and survey answers by theme?

Turn thousands of reviews, NPS comments or survey answers into counts by theme and sentiment. Fix the theme list first so the labels stay consistent across the batch.

Prompt 2: Review and survey theme tagger

You tag customer feedback for [BRAND].

Allowed themes (use only these): [PRICE, DELIVERY, QUALITY, SUPPORT, EASE OF USE, FEATURE REQUEST, OTHER]

Return JSON only:
{"id": "[ID]", "sentiment": "positive|neutral|negative|mixed", "themes": ["..."], "quote": "the shortest exact phrase from the text that supports the main theme"}

Rules:
- "quote" must be copied word for word from the feedback. Never paraphrase it.
- Use up to 3 themes. If none fit, use ["OTHER"].

Feedback [ID]: [TEXT]

The exact-quote rule makes it quick to check: if the quote isn’t in the source text, reject that row. To turn the results into customer research, see our guide to LLMs for market research.

3. How do I draft product descriptions from spec sheets?

Give Haiku the product feed one row at a time and get first drafts in a fixed format. Have a person approve them, especially for regulated products.

Prompt 3: Product description drafter

Write a product description for [BRAND]'s online shop.

Brand voice: [3-5 RULES, e.g. plain British English, no exclamation marks, second person]
Format:
- One sentence of 20 words or fewer saying who it is for and the main benefit
- 3 bullet points, each based on one spec below
- One line of care, size or compatibility detail if it's given

Rules:
- Use only the facts in the product data. If a detail is missing, leave it out. Do not invent materials, sizes, certifications or claims.
- No superlatives ("best", "perfect") unless the product data says so.

Product data (CSV row):
[ROW]

For shop tools that work with these drafts, see our list of ecommerce marketing tools.

4. How do I write meta titles and descriptions at scale?

Haiku can draft titles and meta descriptions for hundreds of pages from the page’s H1 and opening text. Character limits are easier to check in a spreadsheet than to trust from the model, so add a LEN() column and redo any row that’s too long.

Prompt 4: Meta title and description writer

You write SEO metadata for [SITE].

Return CSV with these columns: url,title,meta_description
- title: max [60] characters, primary keyword near the start, then " | [BRAND]" if it fits
- meta_description: [140-160] characters, one clear benefit, plain call to action, no quotation marks
- Describe only what the page actually covers. Do not promise prices, discounts or results that aren't in the page text.

Primary keyword: [KEYWORD]
URL: [URL]
H1: [H1]
First 300 words: [TEXT]

5. How do I generate ad copy variations within character limits?

Google’s responsive search ads take up to 15 headlines of up to 30 characters and 4 descriptions of up to 90 characters (Google Ads Help). Haiku can draft a full set for every ad group in one batch.

Prompt 5: Responsive search ad set

Write a responsive search ad set for this ad group.

Return JSON: {"ad_group": "...", "headlines": [15 strings], "descriptions": [4 strings]}
- Each headline: 30 characters or fewer. Each description: 90 characters or fewer.
- At least 3 headlines contain the keyword theme. At least 2 contain a call to action. At least 2 mention a proof point from the facts below.
- Each headline must make sense on its own and with any other headline.
- Use only the facts below. Do not invent prices, offers, awards or guarantees.

Ad group: [NAME]
Keyword theme: [KEYWORDS]
Landing page facts: [USPs, PRICES, OFFERS, PROOF]

Count the characters again in your spreadsheet before you upload. For ad copy tools with built-in limits and testing, see our guide to AI copywriting tools.

6. How do I classify leads by persona and seniority?

Free-text job titles make segmentation hard. Haiku can map titles to a fixed set of personas and seniority levels for your CRM or ad audiences.

Prompt 6: Job title to persona and seniority

Map each job title to one persona and one seniority level.

Personas (use only these): [MARKETING, SALES, PRODUCT, ENGINEERING, FINANCE, OPERATIONS, FOUNDER/EXEC, STUDENT, OTHER]
Seniority (use only these): [IC, MANAGER, HEAD/DIRECTOR, VP, C-LEVEL, OWNER, UNKNOWN]

Return CSV: id,persona,seniority,confidence(high|medium|low)
- If the title is blank, a joke or unclear, return OTHER,UNKNOWN,low.

[ID],[JOB TITLE],[COMPANY NAME]

For tools that act on these segments, see our guide to marketing automation tools.

7. How do I standardise messy campaign names and UTMs?

Inconsistent campaign names and UTM tags break your reporting. Haiku can map them to your naming convention and flag anything it can’t place, so you can fix the source.

Prompt 7: Campaign and UTM normaliser

Convert each campaign name or UTM set into our naming convention.

Convention: [channel]_[country]_[objective]_[audience]_[yyyymm], lowercase, underscores only.
Allowed channel values: [google, meta, linkedin, tiktok, email, chatgpt, other]
Allowed objective values: [awareness, traffic, leads, sales, retention]

Return CSV: original,normalised,changed_fields,needs_review(yes|no)
- If any part can't be worked out from the input, use "unknown" for that part and set needs_review to yes.
- Never invent a date.

Input: [CAMPAIGN NAME or utm_source/medium/campaign]

8. How do I pull structured data from competitor pages?

Paste in the text of competitor pricing, product or landing pages (copied or exported by you, following each site’s terms). Haiku returns the same fields for each one, so you can compare them side by side.

Prompt 8: Competitor page extractor

Extract these fields from the page text below. Return JSON only:
{"company": "", "product": "", "plans": [{"name": "", "price": "", "billing": ""}], "free_trial": "", "main_claims": [], "target_customer": "", "proof_points": [], "cta": ""}

Rules:
- Copy prices and claims exactly as written, including currency.
- If a field isn't on the page, use null. Do not fill gaps from general knowledge.

Page URL: [URL]
Date captured: [DATE]
Page text: [TEXT]

9. How do I summarise call, webinar and interview transcripts?

Turn sales calls, customer interviews or webinar transcripts into a short summary with quotes you can reuse. A one-hour transcript fits easily inside a single request.

Prompt 9: Transcript summariser and quote finder

Summarise this transcript for the marketing team at [BRAND].

Return Markdown with these sections:
1. Summary (max 80 words)
2. Customer problems mentioned (bullets)
3. Objections and competitor mentions (bullets, with speaker)
4. Up to 5 quotes we could use in marketing, copied word for word, each with its timestamp
5. Questions we didn't answer well

Rules:
- Quotes must be exact. Do not tidy the grammar.
- Mark anything you inferred rather than heard with "(inferred)".
- Remove personal phone numbers and email addresses.

Transcript: [TEXT]

Get permission before you publish a customer quote.

10. How do I triage social comments and inbox messages?

Sort comments, DMs or form replies into queues so the right person sees each one fast. Anthropic says Haiku 5.5 suits real-time uses like live support (Anthropic), but keep a person in charge of anything sensitive.

Prompt 10: Comment and inbox triage

Classify this message for [BRAND]'s social and support team.

Return JSON only:
{"id": "[ID]", "category": "sales_lead|support|complaint|praise|question|spam|abuse|press|other", "urgency": "high|normal|low", "language": "", "suggested_owner": "[TEAM NAMES]", "draft_reply": "max 40 words, or empty for spam and abuse"}

Rules:
- urgency is high for safety issues, legal threats, outages, press or anyone who says they are cancelling.
- draft_reply must follow our tone: [TONE RULES]. Do not promise refunds, discounts or dates.
- A person approves every reply before it is sent.

Message [ID] on [PLATFORM]: [TEXT]

What does each job cost at list price?

These worked examples use Haiku 5.5’s standard rates ($0.10 input and $0.50 output per million tokens) and its Batch rates (half that). Token counts per item are our estimates for typical inputs. Cost = (items × input tokens × $0.10 + items × output tokens × $0.50) ÷ 1,000,000.

Job Volume Tokens per item (in / out) Standard cost Batch cost
1. Search-term tagging 10,000 terms 300 / 20 3M × $0.10 + 0.2M × $0.50 = $0.40 $0.20
2. Review theming 5,000 reviews 500 / 80 2.5M × $0.10 + 0.4M × $0.50 = $0.45 $0.23
3. Product descriptions 1,000 products 600 / 250 0.6M × $0.10 + 0.25M × $0.50 = $0.19 $0.09
4. Meta titles and descriptions 2,000 pages 1,500 / 60 3M × $0.10 + 0.12M × $0.50 = $0.36 $0.18
5. RSA ad sets 500 ad groups 800 / 400 0.4M × $0.10 + 0.2M × $0.50 = $0.14 $0.07
9. Transcript summaries 200 transcripts 12,000 / 500 2.4M × $0.10 + 0.1M × $0.50 = $0.29 $0.15

Even with generous estimates, a full batch costs pennies. Three things can push real costs up:

  • Longer outputs
  • Higher effort settings
  • Retries

Images also count as input tokens. Anthropic’s pricing docs explain how each is billed (Anthropic pricing). The bigger cost is the time it takes a person to check the results, so build checks into the prompt: exact quotes, fixed labels and “unknown” options.

How do I run these prompts in bulk?

Option 1: Claude apps (up to a few hundred rows)

Choose Haiku in the model picker. It’s on every plan, including Free (Anthropic). Paste the instructions once, then paste rows in groups of 20 to 50 and ask for one output line per row. This is fine for one-off jobs. For bigger runs, usage limits and copy-pasting slow you down. For reusable workflows in the app, see our guide to Claude skills for marketing. For working alongside Claude in real time, see Claude Duet.

Option 2: The Message Batches API (thousands of rows)

Anthropic’s Message Batches API is built for jobs that don’t need an answer straight away (Anthropic batch docs):

  • It costs 50% less than standard calls.
  • A batch can hold up to 100,000 requests or 256 MB, whichever limit comes first.
  • Most batches finish within an hour, but a batch expires if it doesn’t finish within 24 hours.
  • You can download results for 29 days.
  • Anthropic’s own example uses include “bulk content generation” such as product descriptions and article summaries.

Use the model ID claude-haiku-5-5 (Anthropic).

Option 3: Add prompt caching

Put the parts that stay the same at the start of every request: your instructions, examples and allowed labels. Then mark them for caching (Anthropic caching docs):

  • The cached part must be at least 512 tokens on Haiku 5.5.
  • A standard cache entry lasts at least 5 minutes, and a 1-hour option costs more.
  • Cache reads cost 10% of the normal input price, which is $0.01 per million tokens on Haiku 5.5.

Anthropic’s pricing docs say caching discounts stack with the Batch API discount (Anthropic pricing).

Quality checklist before you run a full batch

  • Test on 20 to 50 real rows and check every output by hand.
  • Use fixed labels and an “unknown” or “unsure” option so the model doesn’t guess.
  • Ask for exact quotes from the source wherever you can, so checking is quick.
  • Check lengths, JSON and CSV in the spreadsheet, not by trusting the model.
  • Spot-check about 5% of every full batch, and more for anything customers will see.
  • Keep personal data to a minimum, and follow your company’s AI and data policies.
  • Escalate unclear rows to Sonnet 5.5, Opus 5.5 or a person.

When should I use Sonnet or Opus instead of Haiku?

Anthropic describes Haiku 5.5 as pairing well with its larger models: “A more intelligent model like Fable or Opus can plan the work and hand off subtasks to Haiku” (Anthropic). Use Haiku to do the work at volume and a larger model to make the decisions:

  • Use Haiku 5.5 for labelling, extraction, first drafts in a fixed format, summaries and triage.
  • Use Sonnet 5.5 ($2/$10) for long-form drafts, decks, landing pages and nuanced brand copy.
  • Use Opus 5.5 ($4/$20) for strategy, positioning, complex analysis and checking Haiku’s unclear rows.

Frequently asked questions

What is Claude Haiku 5.5 good for in marketing? Anthropic built Haiku 5.5 for ‘high-volume, cost-sensitive tasks’ such as classification, summaries, extraction and routing. For marketers, that covers jobs like tagging search terms, theming reviews, drafting product descriptions and meta descriptions, and triaging comments.

How much does Claude Haiku 5.5 cost? On the API it costs $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens for prompts up to 100,000 tokens. Above that it’s $0.50 and $2.50. Batch processing halves those prices, and cached input costs $0.01 per million tokens.

Can I use Haiku 5.5 without the API? Yes. Anthropic’s plans page lists Haiku on every Claude plan, including Free. The API is better for thousands of rows because you can use the Batch API and prompt caching.

Is Haiku 5.5 good enough for customer-facing copy? Use it for first drafts and well-defined, repeatable formats, then have a person edit. For brand strategy, positioning or long-form thought leadership, use Sonnet 5.5 or Opus 5.5. Anthropic itself pitches Haiku as a fast helper alongside its larger models.

Are these prompts tested? They’re our own templates, written to Anthropic’s documented strengths for Haiku. We haven’t benchmarked them. Test each one on 20 to 50 of your own rows and check the results before you run a full batch.

How do I cut the cost further? Put your fixed instructions first and cache them; on Haiku 5.5 the minimum cacheable prompt is 512 tokens. Send big jobs through the Message Batches API at 50% off. Anthropic says the two discounts stack.

What is the difference between Haiku 5.5 and GPT-6 Luna? Both list $0.10 input and $0.50 output per million tokens and target high-volume work. Anthropic’s launch post includes benchmarks comparing the two, but those are Anthropic’s numbers. Test both on your own data if price and quality matter.
