Best AI tools for video ads in 2026: Meta static-to-video, TikTok Symphony, Creatify, Playad, Cuttable and Krea compared

The best AI tool for video ads depends on where you advertise and what assets you have: if you run Meta ads and have product images, start with Advantage+ creative’s static-to-video, which Meta made generally available in October 2026; on TikTok, start with Symphony. For more control, Creatify is the strongest dedicated video ad maker at a low price, Cuttable suits big Meta spenders with their own footage, and Krea’s Ad Studio is for static ads only.

Playad is different again: it is an AI ads team that makes creatives and runs campaigns rather than a video generator. Below we compare all six on what they make, price, platforms and evidence, using the vendors’ own pages, platform announcements and our reviews. We have not run paid tests of these tools, so we label every performance claim as the vendor’s.

Key takeaways

  • Meta’s video generation from static assets in Advantage+ creative is “now generally available” (6 Oct 2026), and Meta says more than 60% of time on Facebook and Instagram is spent with video.
  • TikTok’s new Smart+ Creative Selection puts your assets, Symphony’s AI-generated creatives and creator content into one approval workflow.
  • Creatify is the cheapest dedicated video ad maker here: Standard is $15 a month ($10 billed yearly), with a free plan of 10 credits a month and watermarked exports.
  • Cuttable builds static and video ads in 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5 from your own footage, but starts at $1,110 a month per brand and is demo-only.
  • Krea’s Ad Studio makes static ads only; Krea’s separate video models (Seedance, Kling, Veo 3.1) are on paid plans.
  • Every ROAS or speed figure from these vendors is self-reported. Test on your own account against your current best ad.

What did Meta and TikTok launch for AI video ads in October 2026?

Meta: static-to-video is now generally available

At Advertising Week New York on 6 October 2026, Meta said advertisers and agencies can generate video from existing static assets in Advantage+ creative, and called this “now generally available” (Relevant Audience; Social Media Today). Meta also announced:

  • Ads Creative Studio, “beginning to roll out to more advertisers”, where marketers can generate video concepts and variations and edit hooks, audio, clip length, text overlays, captions and end scenes.
  • Catalogue product video: turning product images into product video at scale, limited to eligible beta advertisers through Advantage+ creative video generation in Ads Manager and the product video creator in Commerce Manager.
  • Smart product recommendations, scaling this autumn, which pair other products from the same collection with an ad.

Meta’s reason: “more than 60%” of the time people spend on Facebook and Instagram is spent with video. That is Meta’s statistic, and Relevant Audience notes it cites no measurement period.

TikTok: Symphony creative inside Smart+

TikTok introduced Smart+ Creative Selection, which “brings together every creative source – from advertisers’ own assets to Symphony’s AI-generated creatives and even creator content – into one approval workflow”. It recommends groups of creatives for the business and objective and “gives advertisers full control of what goes live” (TikTok Newsroom).

The Symphony tools themselves launched in June 2025 (TikTok Newsroom):

  • Image to Video: an image and short prompt make five-second, TikTok-first clips that can be stitched into ads.
  • Text to Video: a short prompt creates clips to test concepts before full production.
  • Showcase Products: digital avatars hold a product, model clothing or show an app, again in five-second clips.

TikTok says Symphony content is automatically labelled as AI-generated and goes through several rounds of safety review.

Creatify: best dedicated AI video ad maker on a budget

Creatify turns product links, scripts or footage into video ads with AI actors, voices and templates. Its pricing page on 31 October 2026 showed (Creatify):

Plan Monthly Billed yearly Credits a month Highlights
Free $0 $0 10 Up to 2 video ads or 20 image ads, 300 AI actors, watermark
Standard $15 $10 55 300 AI actors, 200+ AdFlow templates, 50+ models, videos up to 2 minutes
Pro $55* $38* 280 1,500 AI actors, 3 custom avatars, Ad Agent and automations, Competitor Ad Tracker, Ad Clone
Max $95 $66 730 Everything in Pro, 3 seats and brand spaces, 10 parallel generations
Business Tiered by credit pool 1,500–6,100 10 seats, 10 brand spaces, unlimited ad account connections
API From $99 – 500 API credits URL to video, avatars, product video

*Pro’s price did not display in our 31 October capture; $55 ($38 yearly) is from our UGC platforms round-up, checked on 29 October 2026.

Things to know: credits are valid for two months; Creatify says it supports 75+ languages; and it says you own your creatives even after your plan ends. Its comparison table also lists an Ad Launcher and an AI Performance Agent for Meta, TikTok and AppLovin, but the page doesn’t make clear which plans include them, so check before you buy. Our Creatify listing still quotes older figures (for example 1,000+ avatars and 29+ languages); the pricing page is the current source.

Choose Creatify if you want many avatar or UGC-style video variations cheaply and are happy to disclose AI content where needed. Compare it with alternatives in our guide to AI UGC ads.

Cuttable: best for big Meta spenders with their own footage

Cuttable’s pitch is “ads that learn”: it reads results from connected channels, builds ads from your own photos and footage, and publishes to Meta. Ads come as static and video in 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5, and AI fills gaps such as a missing shot. Plans are priced per brand: Performance $1,110 a month (75 exported ads), Growth $2,150 and Scale $3,298, with custom Enterprise pricing. There is no free trial or self-serve sign-up. Its pricing page lists Meta and TikTok as channels, but the publishing module only mentions Meta (our Cuttable review).

Its headline claims, such as a 4.4x average ROAS, are Cuttable’s own, with no published method. We scored it 3.3 out of 5: worth a careful trial for ecommerce brands spending $10,000 or more a month on Meta.

Krea: best for static ads, not video ads

Krea’s Ad Studio, launched on 29 October 2026, builds a brand kit from your website (up to 20 products, Shopify catalogues supported) and generates up to 12 ads per batch for 4:5 and 1:1 feed, 9:16 Stories and Reels, and 16:9. But it makes static ads only, one product per ad (our Krea review). Krea separately offers video models such as Seedance, Kling and Veo 3.1 on paid plans, so you can make video clips there, just not through Ad Studio.

Ad Studio is included from Basic at $9 a month (5,000 compute units); all video models need Pro at $35. Krea timed one run at 49 seconds for a brand kit and 2 minutes 28 seconds for six Story ads, which are Krea’s own figures. We scored Krea 3.7 out of 5.

Playad: best if you want an AI team, not just a generator

Playad gives you AI agents, including a creative director called Casey, that learn your brand, design on-brand ad creatives and refresh them weekly, move budget towards what works, and send daily reports in Slack. It connects to Meta, Google, TikTok, Amazon and LinkedIn, with ChatGPT Ads in beta. Important actions need human approval. Plans run from Intern at $39 a month to CMO at $1,799, with no free trial on paid plans (our Playad review).

Our review does not describe Playad as a video generator, so if video is your main need, check what its creative agent produces before buying. We scored it 3.5 out of 5.

How to choose an AI video ad tool: a 5-step test

  1. Start with the free, built-in option. Turn on static-to-video in Advantage+ creative (Meta) or try Symphony (TikTok) before paying for anything.
  2. Match the tool to your assets. Lots of real footage suits Cuttable; product URLs and no footage suit Creatify; strong product photos suit Meta’s static-to-video or Krea for statics.
  3. Check rights and labels. Read who owns outputs and whether your uploads can be reused. Our Krea review flags its broad licence over user submissions; TikTok labels Symphony content as AI-generated.
  4. Run a fair test. Put AI variations in the same ad set as your current best ad, with equal budget, for at least a week or two.
  5. Judge on CPA or ROAS, not clicks. Vendor ROAS figures are self-reported; your account is the only test that counts. Set your test budget with our guide to daily Facebook ad budgets.

What are the limitations of this comparison?

  • We have not run paid campaigns with these tools; quality and results will vary by product and audience.
  • Prices change often. Every price here is dated; check the vendor’s page before buying.
  • Meta’s Advertising Week details come from Relevant Audience and Social Media Today, which quote Meta’s 6 October post; our tools could not load Meta’s page directly.
  • Creatify’s listing on DMS is out of date and we have not yet published a full Creatify review.
